  • Machine and physics:
  • Ultrasound terminology
  • Image generation and artefacts
  • Get to know your machine, and what to do with all the buttons and probes
  • Methods: Why and when to use ultrasound in practice, and limitations
  • Perform a methodical abdominal ultrasound exam, your scanning checklist.
  • The abdomen:
  • How to locate the bladder, kidneys, spleen, liver, gall bladder and recognize normal appearance.
  • Recognizing the appearance of common diseases affecting the bladder, kidneys, spleen, liver, gall bladder.
  • Pregnancy diagnosis and identification of pyometra.
  • Differences between the canine and feline.
  • Practical sessions:
  • Extensive hands-on scanning sessions where you can develop your skills with expert help and guidance.
