Course Intro

VASCULAR ULTRASOUND

Introduction

The aim of this course is to provide you with the theoretical and practical knowledge on how to obtain an optimal image of the relevant blood vessel, the flow patterns within them as well the interpretation of the doppler images. In order to do so we will focus on basic anatomy of these vessels and haemodynamics. We will cover the most common pathology seen in vascular ultrasound. It is my belief that if you know the normal ultrasound appearances of anatomical structures, identifying pathology can be done with greater ease. Therefore, the focus of this course is on the normal ultrasound appearances. After completion of the course, you will have been given a basic scanning protocol and a good foundation to build on while developing your skill in practice.
